Our Opportunity

The Regional Manager, Human Resources will provide both strategic and hands-on Generalist support to designated geographic locations to include recruiting, benefit administration, employee relations, unemployment, payroll, compensation and safety.  In addition, this position will assist the corporate HR team on corporate-wide projects and assignments. 

Key Duties Include

  • Understand the business priorities and be an effective, trusted, and credible coach and advisor to people at all levels within the organization on HR related matters. 
  • Act as a liaison between management and employees to quickly resolve employee relations issues preventing escalation and potential risk and liability. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations concerning employee complaints and works with managers/employees/leadership to ensure prompt resolution of employee concerns.
  • Oversees the completion of performance management/appraisal systems. 
  • File and follow up on all workers compensation and unemployment claims. 
  • Manages and oversees the recruiting process for all level of candidates: exempt, non-exempt and field crew employees. 
  • Coordinates the on-boarding process for all employees
  • Oversee payroll and addresses concerns and ensures the payrolls are handled effectively and timely. 
  • Compiles reports for business units and corporate (HR/Safety). 
  • Partners with corporate HR Team to ensure the health and welfare benefit plans are communicated effectively with new employees and during open enrollment.  Responds to questions and issues as needed. 
  • Act as liaison between the Corporate HR Team and local Management Team to ensure compliance in the Business Unit locations and effectively roll-out HR initiatives.
  • Analyze HR metrics and identify ways HR can continuously improve and manage efficiency.
  • Support and be a champion for safety:
    • Educate employees on safety standards and expectations.
    • Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
    • Investigate accidents that occur on-site and identify possible causes of the accident.
    • Maintain documentation of the company's safety procedures, accidents, and related events.
  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • Experience implementing Human Resource processes and programs in multi-site, multi-state locations.  Prefer experience in a construction or manufacturing environment. 
  • 5-7 years' Generalist experience (e.g. Employee Relations, Benefits, Compensation, Staffing, Onboarding, etc.) with a strong background in Employee Relations required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience in an HRIS/Payroll system.  Paylocity is preferred. 
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to convey confidence, empathy and trust via candor and diplomacy to build effective relationships across all levels.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a dynamic work environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Prior experience in fast paced, growth oriented company preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities as well as flexibility to adapt to change with new systems and methods while working in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel regularly to other sites.
